Latitude R - ECU Strengthening inclusive recycling through social and technological innovation

In November 2024, Latitude R, Fundación Avina and ReciVeci, launched a project to strengthen inclusive recycling through social and technological innovation. The project in question seeks to promote inclusive recycling through several strategies. First, the program for the recovery of recyclable materials will be strengthened in Quito, including collections at ReciVeci recycling stations, as well as from generating points such as bars, restaurants and cafeterias.

In addition, a communication campaign will be carried out with a focus on the “right ton” with digital reach at the national and local levels, the campaign will have the participation of Verito Recicla, who is one of more than 20,000 basic recyclers in Ecuador and who currently works with ReciVeci to promote inclusive recycling. In addition, actions focused on the recovery of glass containers in the city of Quito will be included through the By ReciVeci O-I Cridesa glass HUB, here, it is intended to encourage suppliers with an emphasis on basic recyclers. In addition, a module for transferring points to basic recyclers will be developed in ReciApp, so that users can benefit basic recyclers with prizes and discounts from the ReciApp gamification system.

In addition, a mini Christmas party will be held for basic waste pickers who are part of the project with Avina, within the framework of the ReciFestivities campaign.
