Project overview
The project includes:
- Weekly pickups at McDonald's locations in Quito.
- Payment to basic recyclers for the provision of the collection service.
- Removal of Polyboard containers and recyclable kitchen waste.
- Temporary storage in a collection center
- Shipping of recyclable material to Essity in Latacunga.
During the two months (subject to updating) of waste management, more than 2 tons of recyclable waste have been recovered (subject to updating), which has meant avoiding the emission of more than 3.19 tons of CO2-eq (subject to updating).
